I am writing today with regards to Morecambe Live! A series of free festivals and events which take place in and around Morecambe, mainly on the Promenade. The aim of Morecambe Live! is to run free festivals and events that are accessible to everyone during the summer months - we are planning a full summer of entertainment for the town and would love for you to be involved! These free events which run over weekends and Bank Holiday weekends attract tourists from across the UK and have been a valued source of entertainment for the residents of the town over the past two years. I am sure that you will agree that the festivals have been a valued asset to the town.
We are calling on the support of local businesses, in Morecambe, Lancaster and the surrounding areas to work with us for the 2012 season in one of two ways;
Advertising
Morecambe Live! will be producing a full colour glossy magazine which will list all the events for the 2012 season. We will be selling advertising space to businesses at competitive rates. Businesses can take out Full Page, Half Page, Quarter Page and Classified adverts all at very reasonable rates. The magazine will be something that people will keep in their house and on their coffee table for all of the festival season - almost half the year! This will be an excellent way of reaching your customers as they will be seeing your adverts each time they pick up the magazine to check what will be on that week in the town. We will also be offering a small number of website adverts on our new website which will be launched in the spring of 2012. We are also happy to discuss advert related editorial text to feature on our blog and links through from our website, Facebook and Twitter at reasonable rates.
The glossy magazine will be an A4, full colour magazine which will be distributed before the summer period to outlets across Lancaster and Morecambe such as hotels, doctors, shops, entertainment venues cafes and more. The magazine will also be distributed at all the events by our Morecambe Live! staff. The advertising costs which we are offering businesses are comparable with that of local newspapers and mailshot magazines which are distributed via walk sort mailings. These magazines and newspapers have a very minimal shelf life and are quickly discarded. The Morecambe Live! magazine is something which will be referred to time and time again to find out what events are on in the Town. We expect that the shelf life of such a magazine to be around 20 weeks, if not more. You are therefore not purchasing only one week, or even one month of advertising - but a whole seasons worth!

Editorial Blog feature on Morecambe Live! Blog and Social Networking sites are also available for purchase. The editorial blog feature is a new way of marketing and reaching your target audience. The editorial text can feature click through links to your website and up to four images. The text will remain on the Morecambe Live! blog and will be able to be found by search engines online.
Sponsorship
Morecambe Live! is hoping to recruit sponsors for the 2012 season. Businesses are welcome to discuss with us the possibility of either sponsoring an event in the festival season, a number of events or to sponsor the whole programme of events. In return for sponsoring an event or the support in sponsoring the festival season, Morecambe Live! will be able to feature you in our glossy magazine as one of our sponsors, display a banner at the event or events which you sponsor as well as announcing your support and sponsorship throughout the day. We will be able to feature you on our new website which will be launched in the new year as well as on the Morecambe Live Blog, Facebook and Twitter pages which are all currently under construction. We will also have concessionary space available at events which would be free of charge to our sponsors so that they can promote their business or products to large crowds of people over the summer months.
